Year Review 2022 and Google Sheets files

I once again for 2022 decided to stream through these excel sheets that I’ve created. If you wish to view the stream, you can see it here:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1257508441

Last year I tried to upload these excel files with the macros and everything in a zip file…you can still access those if you are curious and are pretty good with excel.

But this year I decided to try them out as google sheets. This will let you download them in a simpler format, and then if you want to add more features you can. But the basic structure should be laid out in both of them.

Here is the financial google sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jKQ2e_uWMnakHohzKOyRBGMenk1XCjX1MEaUhUZ45L8/edit#gid=990624478

For this one, all you really have to do is enter information in the “RawData” tab. You can be as detailed or as general as you wish, but I’d recommend keeping things with at least two categories (a main one and a sub one, essentially). You can remove the units and quantity if you want. Note that if you do remove or change the columns, some of the formulas may not follow through to the other tabs. I’m also not sure how pivot tables will work on google sheets, so some of those may be broken.

Here is the health/running log:

This one again you’ll want to input data in the “Raw” tab. You can put as much or as little of that information as you wish (if you don’t use apps for your scale or your sleep, you obviously won’t have nearly all of those extra inputs). All the other tables and charts should fill in as you complete it. The “Planner” however, is just for viewing – this is a macro I use to transfer data to the Raw tab but you can’t do that with google sheets.

As a bonus – I will actually be updating this spreadsheet throughout the year! I’ll try and do it every week but it may end up being a bit longer (typically right now I update that every month). This will let you follow me as I do runs and train for the marathon relay I’m doing in the spring…and then beyond whatever other goals I have!

Excel Templates

I usually do my yearly review stats on this site, but this year I decided to stream them instead! They’ll be on twitch at these locations:

PART1: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1257508441

PART2: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1257511983

In addition, I’m uploading the financial and running/health related excel templates here, so that anyone can use them!

Note that both of them do use macros, so you’d have to enable those to gain the full functionality. And these sheets are obviously customized to my benefit, so you’d need some excel knowledge to tweak them to fit your needs. But I wanted to give everyone a chance to use them if they wanted.

Here they are!

Morel Mushroom Journal

4/1/2020 – Anticipation

It’s now early April. I get on the computer and check a few of my regular sites. It started in March with some intermintent curiousity, but now I am checking on a daily basis. It’s nearly morel mushroom season, and I am constantly checking where they’ve been seen and reported. I check a map to see the progress: It starts in the Southeast US, slowly working it’s way north to me. I check a forum to see where Pennsylvania reports are and if they’ve started yet. It was a mild winter and it’s getting warm early this year, which is just further boosting my excitement to get out and find the first morels of the season. I check the soil temperatures, eagerly awaiting the ground temps to reach above 50 on a regular basis. I check the future weather, to see when it’s going to stay warm and if we’ll get any rain.

I’ve already been out walking around several times: To scout out new areas, and to check my early spots just in case. It’s starting to get green. Trees are budding. The wild leeks are up. I’ve already had dreams of morels. Ones where they are everywhere, ones where I was at private property and I shouldn’t have been picking them, ones where the morels get frosted and burned. The anticipation is real.

Part of that anticipation is the unknown factor. Morels are fickle. You never know if a season will be good or not. It comes down to the weather and the timing. It is a short lived season, lasting only a few weeks. Then the morels are gone, and the long summer months begin. I am hoping, with everything going on in the world, I will have a successful season.

Blindfolded Ocarina of Time Charity Marathon!

Hey everyone! I wanted to announce something I’ve got coming up that I’m really excited about!

On June 24th, 2017 around 9AM EST, I will be starting a blindfolded playthrough of Ocarina of Time. I will be attempting to beat the game from start to finish, without any glitches (the idea is to go through all of the rooms). I expect this to be around 24 hours as I navigate through all of the puzzles and enemies, completely blindfolded!

In addition, I will be raising money throughout the stream for a charity! I’ll have more details in the next week, and I’ll also be experimenting with some things on my stream in the next week that I don’t normally have (donation alerts, bits, etc.) just so that I am sure that everything works the way I want. So expect some more streams from me in the next week. Everything I make in the month of June from Twitch (subscriptions, ad revenue, bits, and donations) I will also put towards the charity. There will be donation incentives and prizes, so you’ll definitely want to check it out.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you there!
